My name is Karen Lambert and I am a daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend. I have been a child protection worker for 20 years. I have worked as a child in care worker, family service worker, an intake worker and I currently work on the After Hours Team.  I believe that children grow up best with their own families and I aim to support families in their own planning for their children. My hope is that together we can work towards building empathetic and supportive relationships between child protection workers and the families we work with to reduce the oppressive impact that the child welfare system has on the individuals and families who become involved. I believe that sharing our stories, experiences and our truths can help us work towards a more positive child protection system.
