Hi, I’m Janie (she / her / elle) and I earned an Hnrs. B.A. Criminology and Hnrs. B.S.W prior to working in the child protection system for over a decade. I joined the Collective in 2022 and enjoy contributing its work with a goal of offering safe spaces for truth-telling and in hopes of encouraging changes to child protection systems.  

I’m currently completing an M.S.W and work fulltime as a bilingual counsellor for a non-profit organization serving the families of military members. I’m happily married and the mother of two. My family and I love spending time outdoors and staying active, reading, and playing board games.
