Hollie Boe
Hello! My name is Hollie. I am Métis and the descendant of Ukrainian and English immigrants, currently living in British Columbia, Canada. I carry with me both my settler and Indigenous heritage with pride, “walking in two worlds” in my life and work. I began my child welfare career working in rural and remote Indigenous communities where I held several different roles as an investigator, family service worker, guardianship worker and supervisor. My journey in child welfare has been a pathway of unlearning, healing, re-learning and aligning the work of my hands, heart and spirit. I have come to understand the importance of truth-telling in this work which is what brought me to the collective in 2023. I currently work as a policy analyst on a systemic advocacy research team, specifically focused on understanding and addressing the ongoing systemic failures of the child welfare system for Indigenous children and families in BC.
