Hi there! My name is Cheryl Smith.  I am currently working in Child Protection as a family services worker.  I have worked in the field for 10 plus years.  During those ten plus years I have worked in several roles, including children’s services worker, and Family Group Decision Making Coordinator. 

I spent many years of my childhood in foster care. It is my hope that through telling my story of both my professional and lived experience I can inspire others to share their stories thus facilitating a space for positive changes within the Child Welfare system.  I am truly honoured to be a founding member of the Child Welfare TRUTH-Telling Collective.
