Hi, my name is Anita Horner. I am a daughter, auntie and friend. During my career, I have worked with youth in adolescent inpatient and residential treatment facilities; with families in the child welfare system; and I currently manage the National Center on Family Group Decision Making. I work to emphasize the vital role of family involvement and active ongoing inclusion of the family group, including the active and ongoing participation of children/youth, in decision making and planning in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. I aspire to advance the concept that all children/youth deserve permanency through relationships; and promote practice approaches that mitigate disproportionality and disparities for families of color.
